Over the years, I have been asked many times what my dream job would be. My answer has always been the same: Teaching. I began teaching 32 years ago, and have been with the School District of Lee County for the past 25 years. I graduated from Mississippi College with my Bachelor of Science in Education and received my Master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction from Mississippi State University. I went onto receive my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Above all, I am most passionate about our school mission: Every student, every day, gains knowledge.

I am a graduate of North Fort Myers High School and product of the School District of Lee County. After serving in the United States Air Force and completing college, I served as a teacher in the elementary, middle and high school levels.  I also have the unique experience as serving as a School Resource Officer within Lee County Schools.

Having opened the doors here at Harns Marsh Middle School as a STEM teacher, I returned to Harns Marsh Middle School to continue my career as an Assistant Principal with my ultimate goal of becoming principal within the district. We have done many great things to better our students since we opened our doors - this work continues with a faculty and staff committed to the support of our students.  My goal for our students would be to ensure they all learn at high levels.  Equally important, we want to ensure all students transfer that learning into success at highschool and well into their adult lives.

I am a proud School District of Lee County Graduate, attending Lehigh Elementary School, Lehigh Acres Middle School, and Riverdale High School.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Tampa, a Master’s Degree from The University of South Florida, and an Educational Specialist Degree from The University of South Florida. I began my teaching career in Hillsborough County and worked as an Administrator in Hillsborough and Pasco Counties.  I also worked as a Professor at the University of Tampa in the College of Education.  In returning to Lee County, I was awarded the Golden Apple in 2006 and became an Assistant Principal at Lehigh Elementary.  Since then I have had the pleasure of being an Assistant Principal at Challenger Middle, East Lee County High School and South Fort Myers High School.

Having 23 years of experience in education (at Elementary, Middle, High, and Post-Secondary), I’m very excited to be able to work with your student to find academic success to prepare them for high school and beyond.  I’m proud to call Harns Marsh Middle School home and very invested in ensuring that :  “Every student, everyday, gains knowledge”!
